The Yurok Tribal Fund: Strengthening Sovereignty, Culture, and Community

The Yurok Tribe is the largest Indigenous tribe in California, with more than 6,521 enrolled members living within the Yurok Reservation and surrounding communities in Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties in Northern California. The tribe’s ancestral homeland spans the lower Klamath River to the Pacific coast and borders parts of Redwood National and State Parks, within one of the most rugged and ecologically significant landscapes in the state. Much of this region is remote and mountainous, with large areas preserved for environmental and ecological reasons. Many Yurok families live in rural or off-grid conditions, shaped by the realities of the land itself. Deeply connected to this place, the Yurok people maintain enduring cultural practices that care for ancestral territory and create harmony with the world.

The Yurok Tribal Fund (EIN #41-4969813) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves as the Yurok Tribe’s philanthropic arm, created to engage the public in supporting the long-term survival, sovereignty and well-being of the Yurok people. The fund advances reparative philanthropy and social justice by channeling private giving into Indigenous-led initiatives across environmental conservation, healthcare, education, cultural traditions and community wellness in service of the Yurok Tribe and its members.

Our Commitment to the People

The purpose of the Yurok Tribal Fund is to preserve forever the survival of the Yurok tribe, protect from forces that may threaten its existence, and advance the cultural heritage, sovereignty and well-being of Indigenous communities. The tribe strives to safeguard its ancestral lands, waters, wildlife and resources while promoting education, health and sustainable economic opportunities rooted in traditional knowledge and values.

HOW WE START OUR JOURNEY

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
